Back To The Heart

Rooted And Carried

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

My veins intertwined and threaded together, running just under the skin

Like the roots of a tree, burrowing for strength, buried deep down in the ground

Supplying every need, needed, from somewhere within

In one direction, making its way back around

Coursing new life, creating beauty and light

Providing and expelling things deemed unnecessary

Gossamer and messy the weaves created to collide

A lifeline designed to be seamless and airy

Held in a web, a gauze like umbrella, protecting my dreams and desires

Plunging pure power through the very heart of me

Designed to enrich and inspire

With all of the endurance of a weathered old tree
