Baby Steps

The journey of a lifetime is made of baby steps.

I've lived a life of baby steps
You see, baby steps aren't full steps
They're half, maybe even less
You wobble while you take them
And sometimes you fall
Face first onto the floor
Nose smashed against linoleum
Eyes watering, pride burning away
But you get back up
That's the thing with baby steps
Baby steps come from resilience
A willingness to try
Over and over and over again
Regardless of bloodied noses
Bruised egos or elbows
You just keep putting
One wobbly little foot
In front of the other
And you do that until one day
You look back and see
That you made it through a fucking forest
You climbed mountains
One baby step at a time
