A Poem Directed to an Addiction

Late night

Boggled by adulthood

The tentacles from my palms reach out to

ME

My eyes cannot move

I’m succumbed to mouth breathe

I scroll

Scroll

SCROLL

Until something clicks

Until something grabs me

The tentacles reach farther

I cannot hear

The show is not important

I’ve wasted hours on this

I go back though

Because

It’s too intriguing

And

It’s an addiction.

I can’t seem to close my

Eyes

Without seeing what’s next

Before it’s gone

I face my palm against its

Black covered back

It’s an addiction, I say

That’s running through

Everybody’s veins

I close my eyes at night

To its vibration

That awakes
