Autism is like being thrown across an ocean.
Every wave shakes you like a devastating emotion.
It’s like looking for light at the end of a tunnel,
Tears drop like water does when you put salt and ice in a funnel.
It’s as though the sun never does shine,
Feels like we need an intervention from the divine.
Maybe it is just us to whom all sunny skies are grey,
But it is so easy to feel hopeless every day.
You look in the mirror and can’t accept what the eye sees,
Cry in the dark feeling like your body is the disease.
Put on a brave face so everyone thinks we are okay,
But lack of acceptance haunts us day by day.
Wish all we want to end this overstimulated diuturnity,
And enter the deceased victim’s subtle fraternity.
We may lie to ourselves that this pain will stop one day,
But this never seems to make the problem go away.
We look for a solution to help us proceed,
In the end time will only tell us if we succeed.
