Life Flows Gently On

Still water mirrors

Heather sky, while streams carry

Life gently onward.

-

Onward flows the wind,

Rich with summer’s sharp green scent,

Through hammock-strung trees.

-

Trees root down in earth

That holds feet, tents, cities, paws,

Safe in solid hands.

-

Hands of gold flames weave

Through drowsy blue embers, as

Night falls soft and still.

About the Creator

Jessica Dowding

I have an overactive imagination and I really like petting dogs. I love using creative writing to dig into the small moments that make up humanity.
