Atom in Time

In the beginning, it was just a spark,

A tiny speck in the universe's dark.

Born in the heat of the Big Bang's fire,

It journeyed forth, its fate yet to transpire.

From gas to stars, to planets and dust,

The atom formed part of all that we trust.

In living things, it danced and it sung,

A key player in the dance of life begun.

It saw the rise of creatures great and small,

The passing of ages, the rise and fall.

It felt the warmth of the sun on its face,

And the cold embrace of empty space.

And in its travels, it met with another,

Together they bonded, a bond like no other.

They formed molecules, the building blocks of life,

And gave rise to beauty, to love, and to strife.

Through all of time, the atom persevered,

From the simplest form, to the complex it cleared.

It became the eyes that see, the heart that beats,

The laughter, the tears, and all that it meets.

And as the universe fades into night,

The atom will journey on, beyond sight.

For in its heart, the spark still remains,

A reminder of all that has come, and will remain.

So here's to the atom, the journey it's made,

From the beginning of time, to the end of the age.

A tiny speck, but with power untold,

For in it lies the story, of all that is old.
