All my life, I'd been a pillar,
To look up to, to support
To be grounded, to never falter
With the weight of the world forever
on my shoulders
when all I'd ever wanted was somebody
to lean upon
Then you come along.
And I think alas I may rest, I may
take my back off, put my feet up
let my hair down, breathe
and share the burden.
But my world became heavier
With our everyday
While yours became lighter, brighter
As I fell, you'd float
Only to realise that you'd brought along your weights
And unpacked them on me.
