At War with a Storm
feeling grief

Broken and battered
at war with a storm
Battling the elements
to remain in this norm
Afraid to move, afraid to forget
unconsciously allowing
the pain to stay set.
If only you knew
to let go of the pain,
You have to drop your sails
and feel the pouring rain.
Thundering waves will take over
and coast you to shore
Stray away from the chaos
you can put down your oar.
For this is where
your memory thrives
No more hurt from the loss
but a celebration of lives
A love that has changed
yet in your heart, still survives.

great flow
"At War with a Storm" encapsulates the intense struggle between humanity's resilience and the raw power of nature. This evocative title immediately conjures images of conflict and confrontation on an epic scale, as individuals or communities stand defiant against the fury of a tempestuous force.
Just checking Top Story poems for those that actually have a structure. I see one in yours. Excellent words and subject
