Assignment: 2nd person

What I learned in writing work group.

By ᔕᗩᗰ ᕼᗩᖇTYPublished 2 years ago • 2 min read

Today in my writing work group we had to write a poem all in 2nd person. I was a bit confused because I don't usually write this way. I guess when I write the word "you" I am usually writing about "Her", not me, so it was weird. Anyway, here goes.... Feedback is appreciated but it's okay if it is too boring to comment on. LOL!

You're not all that different from the next girl when you wake up in the morning half asleep and jump out of the bed the quick motion makes your head swirl.

After you tidy up your bedding and put your face on you're more like a hesitation than a chirpy good morning song.

You wonder why waking up is so hard to do sometimes as you gulp down your breakfast and head out the door you think shouldn't life in the morning be something more?

Heading to the office, another traffic jam. You curse the road's potholes, the city government be damned! They really ought to fix this mess so commuting will be less a pain, you try listening to the radio to lesson your morning's inner strain.

Once at work you settle in to write. Luckily you do a job which is pure delight. Writing for you even if just fashion and news is something that makes use of your inspirational muse.

The day goes by fast because you like what you do and before you know it the day is done, dusted and through. The drive home is leisurely, there's no rush now as your work day is done. You let your mind wonder to "her", and how the evening will be so much fun.

When you arrive home she is there at your door. It's funny each time you see her, your lover, your friend, it's like the first time you've seen her all over again.

Why is waking up for you so hard, just a random thought you have, when the rest of the day is so ab fab!

She wants to cook but so do you, you both stop and laugh at the situation and decide to do it together as a team. You stare at her when she's not looking, full of love and esteem.

She's really quite beautiful and a pleasure to wake up to. Hey! That's it just have her move in with you! ;)
