Ashes

She sat and watched

As a dream came true

But the healing process

Brought breaking too

The light of her life

Glowed bright with love

The clouds had vanished

And the sun shined above

She reveled in the union

Although it meant the end

She said, "Goodbye my love,

You belong with your best friend."

She sobbed for her loss

And tried to let go

She smiled her brightest

Letting no pain show

She conquered her demon

Love and happiness won

Her sadness was nothing

Compared to that sun

She had found her peace

She knew she could move on

So she burned herself that night

And a phoenix rose at dawn
