As The Day Ends
...I breathe a sigh
As the day ends, the sun sets low,
And darkness creeps in, ever so slow.
The sky turns orange, then shades of pink,
A peaceful calm, begins to sink.
The birds return, to their nests at night,
And insects hum, by the fading light.
The world slows down, as if to rest,
And quietude reigns, at its very best.
The day's warmth fades, as coolness descends,
A gentle breeze, whispers and blends.
The stars appear, one by one,
A glittering show, under the setting sun.
As the day ends, I breathe a sigh,
Of gratitude, for time passing by.
For moments cherished, and memories made,
And for the promise, of another day.
