I Wonder Will We Ever Learn

Looking out of my window,

I see children happily playing together,

They are oblivious to the pain that is being

inflicted upon them;

They are carefree, happy, and smiling.

A lady walks down the street,

Pushing her baby in a pram,

The baby is sleeping, peacefully,

But her mum has tears in her eyes,

As she begs for money to feed her child,

As passers by turn a blind eye.

A couple stands in the street,

Arguing over simple things,

They are oblivious to the suffering,

Though it's all around them,

They are wrapped up in their own world,

Focusing on getting their own way,

Too blind to see the love they could offer

each other.

A man passes my window,

He has his head down,

And he is crying,

Not a single soul would know whether

he is hurting;

Nobody bothered asking.

As I stare at the world, today,

I wonder,

Will we ever learn,

That;

Inside the heart of every human being,

There hides a suffering that,

Often goes unknown?
