Orange licks sky
Embers fall, begin to die
Light recedes, dark returns
Stare across water
Words devastate and leave cold
Walk into darkness
Frosted breath on air
Alone again, shuddered chill
With it tiny thrill
A beginning soon
New log to hearth, stoke the flame
Welcome time to change
