The Arctic fox is well adapted to survive in the extreme cold of the Arctic region, with a thick fur coat that changes color with the seasons to provide camouflage.

They have a unique hunting behavior known as "mousing," due to a keen sense of smell and excellent hearing, it helps them locate prey under the snow and ice so they listen for the sounds of small rodents under the snow and then pounce to catch them.

Arctic foxes have a circumpolar distribution, meaning they can be found throughout the Arctic region in North America, Europe, and Asia.

They are opportunistic feeders and will eat a variety of foods, including lemmings, voles, birds, eggs, carrion, and berries.

They have a high reproductive rate, with litters of up to 25 pups born in dens in the snow during the spring.

They are one of the few species that can survive in the extreme cold of the Arctic, with temperatures reaching as low as -58°F (-50°C).

Arctic foxes are monogamous animals and form strong pair bonds with their mates, often staying together for life.

their populations are threatened by climate change, habitat loss, and competition with other predators like the red fox.
