Apple Seed
Poem written by Brittney Bistline
Shrinking into the size of an apple seed
She peers up at the bonsai tree,
Taking a nap in the small mound of moss,
Regaining her strength, she takes away
And off on her adventure to forget about her loss
To find peace again within every light's ray,
She makes friends of giant ants and climbs grass the size of pines,
Taking a step when they said she can't
And finding Love where there's none to find,
Her limbs may be small, but her heart is large
Stars are astronomical in proportion,
She is forging weapons out of sticks
Whatever she can find
Never lies and honest eyes,
Beside a puddle, a carved out apple she builds into her paradise,
The size of an apple seed
Weeds attempt to take a hold
Of her castle, But she fights to be the one who is in control,
And before she knows
Within her small hand
The whole world she holds.
(You were never so small at all...)
