My fear and hesitation, is just selfishness?
My fight against temptation, is just carelessness?
Apparently,
If I'm quiet, then I'm just full of myself?
And everything I keep on the top shelf, and out of my sight, is nothing more than a show of pride‐
Apparently,
Me handling what's beyond my capacity, is just a cry for attention?
I can't be a human?... ‐with human emotions?
Apparently...
Everyone knows all of my exact intentions, and I have no choice but to comply to their assumptions.
What's true of me is all and only what others mention.
Apparently,
Everyone sees, but no one knows.
Everyone hears, but no one listens.
Everyone feels, but no one relates.
Apparently,
I just have to "put up" with it all.
Because everyone trips, but now one will pick up who fails.
Because every "tip" comes from the lips of the know-it-all's.
Is there anyone left?
Who cares about anyone but themself?
Everyone is just by themselves‐
or at least, apparently.
