The World Needed Healing

By Basiiraa MoosaPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

We Ran with fever in our bodies and favour

In Our hands to the towers where nightfall

Dark Red broken skies mirrored our behaviour

Uniform to our broken backs unable to stand tall

We Needed healing to save us from nothing

To Have empty bellies and open sores

Something more than hope to hold onto without jumping

For Tomorrow we fear pity won't open doors

Save Us from ourselves and the state

From The threat of dying, left broken, alone

Lonely Winds testing our fate

Of Doom and the future and a government overthrown

Take Us to the moonlight on a quiet night

To The leaves dancing to the tunes of the breeze

Open Skies where birds were fed full and children had light

In Their Hearts held a dream, fulfilled in a timeline of ease.
