Late Night Thoughts with Anxiety

The sharp pain in my head

reminds me that I am unwell

and that most of what I think is untrue.

The worry and fear I feel running through my veins

each and every day is not to be allowed to sway me.

When I look around me I see demons

out to get me and kill me.

I cannot see the passionate love and embrace

and simplicity that is masked by distrust

and anguish.

I want to scream out in frustration

but reel back in fear.

Who is it to say I have a right to be frustrated?

I merely back into my corner once more

grasping in the darkness the familiar webs

of my misery and wrap myself tightly

in a cold embrace once more.
