Angrily Bringing Change

A Poem by Jaclyn Barrows

AN ANNOUNCEMENT!

Beguile me no more with the long-held fear of

Change in the winds!

Dread of the numinous Future, unknown now but will be known soon enough.

Eudaimonia is a state of mind that must be worked for, and I’ve worked for it for so long .

For now, IT IS TIME, I SAY!

Grab this bull by the horns, though it pushes back hard, STAY STRONG!

Heaven and hell crouch in wait, hidden in plain sight, watching the struggle.

IT IS TIME, again I shout!

Just stay strong…

Know this; this world system offers support only to those willing to be its slave.

Little do any of us know what tomorrow will bring, for tomorrow is promised not to a single soul.

More often than not, we quit too soon…

Never allowing ourselves our full potential

Or we overdo out of

Pure procrastination

Quell these fears that kill our plans year after year

Reach out your hand toward a life of peace

So close to us always, we could rest on it if we wanted to.

Then breathe in and out, in and out

Understand me now?

Venture into this new year with a new fervor, a new chance at good change awaits!

Xenacious attitudes are what is necessary to bring about new ideas

Zealously strive for angrily bringing change!
