Angelic Tears in Your Eyes

Inner wounds

***

A fire wanders in the gloomy night—

Is this a mere sigh I hear? Then a cry?!

I’m dreaming… A shadow comes into sight…

I feel how much you hurt me and ask: why?

*

And you are the ghost in my silent verse.

Your eyes paint the greyish shades of sorrow.

The angelic tears in them are a curse

On the tips of severe fatal arrows…

*

Like a sharp blade, they cleave at once my soul,

While I touch the hidden corner of grief.

Our last poor love was a play or foul —

A sharpened sword in the hand of a thief!

*

After this inner wound, my voice is gone.

I hope my heart won’t be as cold as stone…
