Angel Tonight

Depression

By Abigael FranciscaPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

I’m sitting here in my fear

Wondering how I got here

Telling myself don’t do it again

Don’t run that blade across your skin,

Hoping and praying I don’t fail

Just might let my soul sail-away.

Maybe I’ll become an angel tonight,

Maybe I’ll finally see the light,

It’ll take away my pain,

And I’ll finally sane,

Maybe I will find peace in the light

If I only become and angel tonight.

Sit and think about my life,

As I hold and clutch my knife,

I’m telling you I’ll be alright,

Just maybe not quite tonight,

You say I should hold on,

But for just how long?

Now as I set down my knife

I hope you’ll hold me tight

I hope you’ll tell me you care about me,

I hope you promise to never leave,

And I hope you don’t see my face,

So I won’t become an angel tonight,

I'll sit here and try to stay alive,

I’m gonna endure all my pain,

And I’ll try to feel sane,

I’ll wait to find peace in the light,

And I won’t become an angel tonight.
