To chant Psyche’s beauty, no words exist
And your loveliness, I have none to sing
For you, language fails and yet, I do cling
Onto all words read aloud, which persist
And which rattle around, they do insist
The air was wet on that summer’s evening
Professed in the dark, once again I ring
With all the lives that could have been, but missed
Nothing but mist, let it lie, let it be
Steal away in the night, until the dawn
Winks, then shows herself all rosy and bright
And says run along, get going, just flee
Pluck up those sweet fruits, dripping, which do spawn
From the still lake of a new day, to bite
