memory garden 2026 for Richard L Jacobs Jr (c) 2026

like raindrops on a sunny day

you left abruptly

you left with no warning

you didn't know yourself

that you were going to leave

you tried to escape

but you didn't have a chance

you died all alone

sitting in that car

at first the gunman shot you in the shoulder

your right hand instinctively covered your wound

there was blood on your right hand

there was blood on the gearshift

you were trying to get away

your foot was on the brake

you were trying to get away

but more shots rang out

twelve to be exact

you never had a chance to survive

you died all alone

sitting in your new car

you couldn't get away

you couldn't save your own life

you gave until you couldn't give anymore

at home five state policeman stood on my birthday gift

in my living room, an oriental rug

you bought your mother before you left for work that fateful day

you shouldn't have died

you were trying to get away

but you didn't get away

you left without saying goodbye

you didn't know you were going to leave

but it is not over yet

I asked the policeman standing on your rug

is someone going to pay for this

I will make them pay

I will find the person that did this to you

you left without saying goodbye

you didn't know you would be leaving this world

you didn't know that you were going to die

I will make them pay

I am broken beyond repair

I lost part of myself, the best part

you left without saying goodbye

you tried to get away from the bullets

I will find who took you away from me

and left me a shell of a human being

I will love you my sweet son, beyond this earth

I will never forget you

you tried to get away

the world will never be the same again

after you have left

you left the world in shambles

I will find who did this to you

that is my promise to you

you didn't want to leave

the gunman took you away

I will find him

that won't bring you back

but that is justice

you had blood on your hand

you were trying to get away

away from death

I will find the person responsible

rest in peace my sweet son

your mama will find you justice.

you walked out my front door and never came home

after your gone

the world will never be the same again
