An Orchid's Dream

Do All Caterpillars Turn Into Butterflies?

Colored,

Covered,

Cornered,

Covered with black and white stain,

Cornered, but smiling big red and bright,

Colored hair, colored eyes, colored heart,

Taken back, right then, and at the start.

A jewel uncut, not many but flood it,

Wilted yellow with a wilted willow,

White fever with a perennial pain,

It blooms in season, acknowledged its bloom never, again.

Grey drowsiness spread, like potent mahogany,

Always hoping for the next election,

Rumors spread, and so do enemies,

Yes the language vulgar, extend to fear me.

Silver knowingly steps bewildered,

Striking paradox unspoken, withered,

By a sickness that takes over like a green,

Covered in mucus, bloodied my dream.

Thick vines, ferocity oozing out,

In temptation, long days carried out,

Built an empire, on visions of false hope,

Another category, two-sided trope.

A banned book swimming in controversy,

When I'm finished, collect my belongings,

Collect me...

Angels rose from the depths of hell,

It's carried on ever since,

Two guidelines placed in the system,

Where knew when, what, and who.

Bubbles rise, and money dies,

Roles inversed, contracts voided,

Stop the voices and listen to the churning,

Smooth it over in false belief,

Living it up on Pomegranate St.

Yelling, "It's a free world baby!" In lilac plimsolls.

Unborn, taken babies,

Dire discretion of blatant misery,

Deplorable, diminished properties,

Painstakingly, silently buried.

Recurrent occurrences,

Once happened,

Once finished,

One withered,

ALL written.

Words unwritten,

Spoken words unsaid,

Built-in the dark, and the resentment settles in.

It, midnight belonged, a cold, blue world

New roads are taken, in the past still fed.

Stripped the rose of all its beauty,

to see the beauty within.
