An Ode To The Ordinary Student
As Submitted To Ordinary Ode Challenge
Where they study
And save money
Boxes are stacked high
Housing old information that died
Late night papers typed
Worrying if they were right
When reporting both sides in the subject’s fight
Which no longer ends up an important need
When planting the priority seed
Textbooks pursuing trivia at times
Stimulating youthful minds
In their search to learn
And be intellectually firm
Seeking desired pursuits
Career ambitions they do flirt
Two years in the books
Enough there for an associate to cook
But one could add some seasoning
Sprinkled with reasoning
Wanting a simple life
Proclaiming ordinary husband and wife
Others though continue, enroll in state
Wanting a bachelors, that is great
Living home
Or dorm, all alone
Remember this
Hustling may get your name on some list
But your brain thinks free
Especially when strengthened by a higher education degree
