An ode to longing
Why does the yearning for desires leave us forlorn and unseen
An ode to longing
Why do our expectations often crush our being?
Why does the yearning for desires leave us forlorn and unseen?
Humans metamorphosed into beings of immortal might,
Yet the arduous long to manifest more bellowed them to the eternal light.
The faith we behold keeps the hope in us intact from waning low,
We laugh, we cry before the very eyes of eternity’s glow
Tireless in our endeavours, we strive our way with tenacious grit,
Often we forget, to rest and in the embrace of abundance, in stillness sit.
The odyssey we forge in, the quest of self never ends,
To be sturdy with steadiness, halting in gratitude strengthens the spine
As life takes a bend.
Though in the surplus of bliss, we exist,
The urge to exceed ourselves in every aspect persists
I hope in our search for the exemplar of more,
We find ourselves in the simplicity of mundane chores.
Whatever our souls are made of,
In the surge of our heart's content, we always fall.
The ode to longing breathes in every fragment of us all.
