An Ode To Librarians

I walk in and the smell of books hits me

On a mission to find the perfect book

Fiction

Romance

Self Help

Non Fiction

The list goes on and on

Walking down each aisle, scanning books

Pick one up, read the back

Intriguing

I will add this to my stack

I can not find what I am looking for, no worries

I head to the counter, the librarians are always willing to help

Full of suggestions, full of answers, assuring me my pick is indeed a good read

I love their suggestion, another book to add to the stack

I keep browsing, I sit and I read

I look up and a couple of hours have passed

I head back to the counter, hand over my card and my books

Each book the librarian scans is music to my ears

I put all my books in my bag

I have a few weeks to read all of these books
