In my dreams,
I am living an Italian Summer.
I wake up to a soft breeze,
Sending vibrations through my veins,
And warm beams of sunlight,
Thrusting through the curtains,
Bidding my slumber goodbye.
I slide my body through the curtains
Guarding the balcony,
And take in the crisp Mediterranean air
With a coffee in hand
And ease at heart.
I undress and place a flowy white gown
Over my bare figure
And walk down to the water
Where I take in the brash blue waves
Crashing against the calm of the dock.
I dip my toes into the sea
While I lay my body
onto the soft silky sand
and let my mind wander.
I find my thoughts to be stagnant
And sense a slight pang of confusion
Until I suddenly realize
There is no place in this universe
That I’d rather be
Than with myself
At ease, at sea.
