An Empath
As the wind blows by the ear.
Whispers safely into your ear.
Introverted soul, senses bad energy around.
Keeps quiet because people will think their odd.
Odd is a powerful gift but comes with great challenges.
One steppingstone to another.
Then sadly they fall into the water.
Because something triggered their sensitive spot.
As time goes by an Empath becomes wise and use their gift.
With mood swings, left and right.
They know what’s right or wrong.
As sensitive as an Empath is.
The more strengths they will accomplish.

Final Call
She flings her arms around my neck and squeezes me like she’s never going to let me go. My head spins as her lips brush against my cheek. She must be able to feel my heart thumping in my chest. I shuffle backwards and ram my hands into my coat pockets, watching her reach down and heave the rucksack across her shoulders.
