A tale of a loss

She laid herself in dead grass so dry,
Singing an eerie distant lullaby...
The tears she wept, as she said goodbye
To her dear loving husband, who had just died.
In her REM, she slept not a wink,
Nightmares and sorrows upon the brink
Of destruction, while she withers weak,
Her heart doth need love, that's what she seeks.
In days passed, she's laughed, sang merrily and danced...
But aye, now she couldn't even have glanced
that way, where there's another man.
She laid herself in grass so dry,
Singing an eerie distant lullaby...
The tears she wept, as she said goodbye
To her dear, loving husband, who just had died.
