Amidst the Beastly Crowd, Searching for Humans"

A man is scavenging food from a trash bin

A few dogs are by his side,

Some beasts are walking by, covering their faces and noses with their hands.

In this city, I find very few humans among the beastly crowd.

An elderly man in a tattered, faded kurta

Lying on the pavement,

A frail body, as if he hasn't eaten in days.

A pack of wolves walks by

Holding packets of biryani, perhaps there's a picnic somewhere,

I've seen humanity being murdered with my own eyes in this city.

A child stands with flowers in hand under the scorching sun,

Puffing on cigarettes, many foxes

Are passing by, perhaps attracted by the lure of raw chicken meat,

I've seen the naked ferocity in this city out in the open.

In this city, amidst the hundreds of thousands of ferocious creatures, a few humans are still alive,

Surviving after fighting a horrifying battle,

No one knows how long this battle will continue.
