falling apart

Why is it so hard to live?

It seems like this country is just taking and taking

Never gives

Money, taxes, insurance, bills

And they expect us to raise kids?

No one has the time to meet

We work and work

Not being able to pay for shit

Falling into debt

Just for a chance to live

Paperwork, permits, tickets, fees

Neverending circle of disbelief

Is this even legal?

How can it be?

.....

Justice system falling apart

Guns at schools instead of books

Babies born just to be abandoned

Wars and genocide playing right in front of our eyes

And all we do is send thoughts and prayers

.....

Why is it so hard to live?

In this cruel world of ignorance and pain

As long as it doesn’t affect us, we’re okay

Forgetting that those people who die

Those people were someone’s everything

They bleed out on the streets

And for what?

Their politicians trying to prove

They can do anything they want?

.....

Wars are not about people

Governments are not for people

And in this country

It’s getting harder to see

Any trace of humanity

.....

Why is it so hard to live…

in this world of grief?

Where lately everyone seems overwhelmed with anxiety

Unhappy from trying to be happy

And trying and trying and trying

Telling ourselves that if we try just hard enough

If we are good enough

The God, Justice, Karma will come

And one day, we will see that reward…

.....

Unless we die before

In someone else’s race for power.

Just another justice system error.
