Amelia

lyric

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 6 months ago • 1 min read

(Verse 1)

Down by the Mississippi, where the water runs deep,

Lies a tale of Amelia, in whispers she'll creep.

With eyes like the bayou, a voice soft and sweet,

She lures the lost sailors beneath the river's beat.

(Chorus)

Oh, Amelia, siren of the night,

Your song dances 'neath the moonlight so bright.

Fishermen and shrimpers heed your call,

To their fate 'neath the waters, they fall.

(Verse 2)

Cajun beauty with a mysterious grace,

In the shadows of the cypress, there's her place.

A siren's call in the humid air,

Guides the lost with a haunting flair.

(Chorus)

Oh, Amelia, siren of the night,

Your song dances 'neath the moonlight so bright.

Fishermen and shrimpers heed your call,

To their fate 'neath the waters, they fall.

(Bridge)

In the heart of Louisiana, where legends abide,

Amelia's song is a caution, for all to hide.

Yet, still they venture, drawn by her tune,

To the shimmering river, where their own dreams loom.

(Outro)

Amelia's voice echoes in the dark,

By the Mississippi's ebony arc.

A blend of beauty with treacherous charm,

In her embrace, there's both grace and harm.
