Amber Light, Right Here, Right Now

This is a winter romance inspired poem, I love the idea of winter romance the scents of a cabin hidden in a snowy wonderland, a fire than burns both for heat and comfort. These are thought that are evidently a classical romantic view, but seem lost in a otherwise romantically empty world at present.

Let me lay before the fire, like a cat outstretch with purring delight , for the winter winds howl against the window , battering snow into drifts across a wooded view, yet all the while we are sheltered from this storm.

The ambers of this fire light which dance across our beads of sweat , are but a gentle reminder of romance nearly lost, yet captured in this moment of serene harmony.

While we lay out in blissful comfort before this fire that burns as passionately as our love, our bodies tightly bound together in an embrace that only lovers would truly ever know , with not a care for what may be out there in the world , our focus right here, right now.

Is it time to rest my head against your chest? To listen to that sobering sound, a heartbeat that beats for me . Perhaps this once, just like before, read to me just a little more. Read me a poem of your own creation, of romance beneath the stars, tell me how your heart does glide above the winter pines.

For I shall remain here beside you ever still, with only amber light that gives us sight, so that we may see our own locked gaze . So speak to me, just so I may here that delicate tune , that voice so sweet, surely it must be a gift from angels above.

I shall lay here in your embrace just a little longer, with amber light from fires bright dancing across our beads of sweat, with not a care in the world to dampen our minds and hearts, just a care for this moment, right here, right now.
