Am I OK?

Written by my 10 year old self.

By Jack HawittPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Silver heels, a flowing dress I’d say I’m looking my best

But boys like blue and football too so I hide and make myself less

In my room I dance and sing and choose what’s right or left

Here I’m free and endless colours can overflow from my chest

Am I Ok? Am I Ok?

Can you fix me? Did I break?

Am I Ok? Am I Ok?

They call me names, they call me gay

Am I Ok? Am I OK?

I take in every word they say

Am I Ok? Am I Ok?

At home I sparkle, out here i'm grey
