we find the sadness
in the happiest of faces
we find madness
in the sanest of places
in a room full of colour
we notice the grey
we can drain all of the warmth
from a bright summer’s day
we can find a macabre joy
in the morbid and absurd
we can change your whole day
with just a single word (or three)
we can untie the knots of the known
only to leave more in its place
as we delicately corrupt
another safe and sacred space
we can extract small truths
from the largest of fiction
in our flights of fancy
we breath contradiction
in our all or nothing worlds
the words for which we strive
we write to live we live to write
we write because it keeps us alive

‘We write because it keeps us alive.’ That’s the truth. But where is this poetry coming from, I still don’t know. Definitely not from my mother’s genes as she hates everything what I do.
