Don't Look Back

like water under the bridge

disguising its flow

making a path down a ditch

causing the senses to grow

fully aware somethings there

but never seen with the eyes

leaving me unaware

of what's just out of my sight

moss grows on the south side

where the tingling lingers

so many places to hide

but no suspects to finger

staying under the radar

on the cusp, in the gray

fear is quite a persuader

when there are debts to be paid

it's hard to move forward

when you're always looking behind

rotten apples in an orchard

the hands of justice is blind

the unknown can be clever

it's yours to just take a bit

but beware of the pressure

of never looking behind
