Alone Together
Earth, air, water, fire, death.

Crickets chirp, ground sings
With the music of the dirt.
Feet planted, I root.
As if from thin air
You appear in dense forest
You're my atmosphere.
Then, we are beneath
Icy water, quiet, cold
Reach in slow motion
Not far enough, heat
Lungs burn like fire, I thrash
Finally, quiet.
