Alone Time
A Poem about What Grounds Me and Moves Me Forward

There are parts of the day
where my branches will sway.
Giving into all the wind around
as it makes me play.
I am happy standing firm,
and in a crowd I may squirm.
Yet if there was no sound,
I still would be on a good term.
Again the sun rises,
and sets with some surprises.
The clouds tell a rooted story
that my heart soon realizes.
I am lucky to be here;
still with all of my friends near.
Yet, I really begin to notice
when I hold my alone time dear.
My branches open wide
and I feel what is inside.
My branches have no where to hide,
and I am happy to be outside.
