All Plants Are Edible, Some Only Once Then You Die

Every hedgerow holds a tale,
Every woodland keeps a song.
Nature welcomes those who listen,
But remembers those who’re wrong.

The foxglove stands in velvet robes,
So graceful in the summer breeze.
A queen dressed up in shades of pink,
Yet dangerous beneath her leaves.

The elder offers flowers sweet,
The hawthorn blooms in lace each spring.
While hidden close beneath their shade,
The nettles guard each living thing.

The yarrow mends, the thyme can soothe,
The lavender calms troubled sleep.
The willow bends but does not break,
Its ancient promises to keep.

Yet beauty never signs a pledge
To mean us kindness every day.
The brightest bloom can hide a warning,
If curiosity loses its way.

The forest owes us nothing at all.
It simply carries on its course.
The wise arrive with open eyes,
And leave with gratitude—not force.

So learn the names before you pick,
Respect the roots beneath your feet.
Knowledge is the truest basket
For everything you hope to eat.

There’s magic growing everywhere,
In petals, berries, bark and seed.
But wisdom is the finest harvest,
Far greater than a hurried need.

So wander softly through the wild,
With wonder stitched into your heart.
Because nature loves to teach us all…
If we’re clever enough to do our part.

And yes, all plants are edible—
At least that’s technically quite true.
The secret is surviving lunch…
To enjoy tomorrow’s brew.
