All on a Summer's Day
A Sonnet by Julie Lacksonen
The summer breeze caresses sun-kissed cheeks
Of those who splash upon the water's shore.
A child squats, it's treasure that he seeks
A shell, some rocks, and tumbled glass, his score.
☀️
And then, the water beckons all, "Come in."
With promise of a cool, refreshing swim
And so begins the laughter, calls and din
Of splashing, flips, and racing on a whim.
💧
A satisfying time was had by all
We soaked up sun and washed away the gloom
Creating mem'ries later to recall,
Seeing nature in its finest bloom.
🌼
Enjoy the warmth, the water, sun, and play
For fun is best all on a summer's day.
