All Hallows' Eve
the night when the dead win

Crunchy orange and yellow leaves,
The spirit of October weaves
Patterns of red, orange, yellow
Blinding sunshine, orange pumpkin
Carved to celebrate All Hallows'
Eve, the evening when the dead win
and walk the earth and muddy ground
Wherever memories abound.
Brown cloves, cinnamon, dying leaves;
Can mushrooms and spirits deceive?

"A look around us at this moment shows what the regression of bourgeois society into barbarism means. This world war is a regression into barbarism. The triumph of imperialism leads to the annihilation of civilization." (Rosa Luxemburg)
