Far away,
Moon shimmers on water
Only soft candles flicker
Heaven in alight.
Slowly, sun illuminates
Nature's beauty.
*
Garish city lights
Steal away stars,
and blind all.
Humans scurry about
Like ants
Lacking communal sense.
Only insignificant,
Daily patterns
Remain in focus.
*
How long
Will nature's light
Hold
Against human desire
To spotlight
Only themselves?
*
Find nature...
For peace
Escape
Breath
Where heaven is alight.

Author's note: according to a Google search,
80% of the world's population live under
light-polluted skies, limiting star gazing.
