waves whip –

lash out –

foam fizzles

out

taken

for granted amongst the sea

comforting tessellations of mountains

you call home nowadays

the seagull does more than eye

its prey

and fortunately

for comfort

no ammonites lay near us

amens only found in the wind

the acidity of the ocean air

curls my lips toward

the taste of whatever the opposite of

being landlocked is called

upon oneself

for answers

for familiarity

for a home where dreams won’t die

nature poetry
