Once the King of Sri Lanka sent his messenger to the court of King Akbar and asked him to ask King Akbar to send us a pot of wisdom. The messenger told Akbar according to what his king said- Maharaj! Many intelligent people in your palace are noted for their intelligence, so our Maharaj has asked your palace for wisdom in a pitcher.

Hearing this from the messenger, all the ministers and kings sitting in the palace started to look at the messenger with surprise and the whole courtier and the minister started talking to each other about what kind of request they are In this way, King Akbar said to the messenger- Do the Sri Lankan kings want to make us mad? How can this happen? How can wisdom go in the pitcher?

Hearing King Akbar, Birbal said- Maharaj! We will send wisdom in the pitcher, but it will take some time, the messenger said, "Okay, we will wait, but we will have to give wisdom in the pitcher." Birbal went home and asked his servant to bring a small potted pit. The servant came with a dozen pitchers and was then taken to a field where pumpkins were planted.

Birbal also reached the field and, finding small pumpkins, put them inside the pitcher and ordered the farmer of the farm not to tease these pots until he ordered himself.  After a few weeks, Birbal went to check the pitcher and saw that the pumpkin is now exactly the size of the pitcher, so Birbal carefully asked his servant to separate those pitches from the plants and ordered them to be brought to the court. At Birbal's behest, the Sri Lankan envoy was called to the court.

Birbal picked up a pot from it and gave it to the messenger. The pitcher was covered with cloth. While giving the pot, Birbal asked the messenger to tell his Maharaj that by removing the wisdom, our pot should be returned to us in this way and it should not be broken somewhere else, otherwise the fruit of wisdom will not be beneficial. Hearing this, the messenger quickly looked inside the pitcher and retreated.

Birbal, while completing his talk, said to his Maharaja that we have more such pitches too, if he needs, please ask for it soon. Otherwise, no needy should know. The messenger thought that his Maharaja should not have given him such a challenge as Birbal defeated him by his wisdom.

Considering this, the messenger quietly picked up the pitcher and went from there. The king laughed on seeing the pit because there was a pumpkin inside it. King Akbar said - Birbal you have sent such wisdom to the king of Sri Lanka which he will not be able to forget throughout his life.
