Again
I’m letting my loyalty chain me to my hurt

It happened again,
Ending every night with a tear stained pillow,
Wishing for the unexpected, but instead I receive familiarity,
I’m letting my loyalty chain me to my hurt,
I try to break free, then you say “I’m sorry”,
Letting the words form a blanket of amnesia,
My world starts over and my pillow is there waiting for the forecast to change
