After The Parade

No Place For Me

By QUEENKIPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

After The Parade

Surface levels of acceptance.

Faded.

Silenced by the underlying currents of misunderstanding

Prompts to embrace me

Stored away in silent places

Awaiting in hidden corridors, until the next engagement

When will I experience the truth?

Unity guided by the freedom of being free

Faded.

Paraded momentarily, celebrated halfheartedly

Discarded annually

The illusionary anthem of acceptance

Do you hear the beat, in the streets?

Faded.

Amongst the marchers beside me

In an orchestrated demonstration

I am a singular entity

Faded.

No place in this world do I ever belong

Before, during, and after the parade

I march alone

Faded.
