After It's Gone...

Life Just Isn't The Same!

By J.W. BairdPublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

I tried to hold on tight

As tight as I possibly could

The tears began to swell

I fought with all my might

But I was NOT Strong Enough

I look back thinking to myself

What could I have done differently

With hopes and dreams lingering within my mind

To see them crushed

Shattered all around me on the ground

I fall to my knees in despair

All that's left is Pain and Darkness

Hopelessness and Frustration

Who Am I Now

I'm not that same individual I once was

Fearless and Full of Life

Traveling and Exploring New Places

Dancing with the Rhythms of the Music

Creating Beautiful Memories and Works of Art

I look in the mirror and all I see is tired and worn out

Damaged beyond all repair

A fountain of youth now drained

The last few drops trickling out onto the mud below

The sadness is all that is left

The pain, the worries they have a hold on me now

Forever trapped in a vicious cycle

They are trying to drag me down

Yet I fight

I turn my eyes up to the sky

And I pray to the Creator

I can't do this alone

No more

I mourn

I mourn for the person I once was

If I could go back

Oh how I wish I could

I would do things differently

Cause After It's Gone... Life Just Isn't The Same!

Who Am I?

I keep asking myself. I spent half of my life as a single mother. Pushing myself to be the strong independent individual that I have always been. My kids have grown and my life seems turned upside down.

I now search to find myself!
