Change the world…

After I Die
Photo by Rui Silvestre on Unsplash

After I die,

Burning buildings will

Crash and crumble.

Daughters and sons

Entering elementary

For freedom, fun, and

Games, won’t

Have the luxury of an

Ignorant adolescence.

Jail cells will rumble.

Killing me will

Leave anger even

Murderers won’t understand,

News stations will cause riots once

Officers show their body cams.

Police will make strangers

Question if I was

Right, and my mother will lead a

Strike till the last days of her life.

Teenagers will tell tales of the teacher they

Used to have.

Voices will go viral

Warning we’ll be free at last…

X will mark the spot and the

Year the world learned my name.

Zillions will know about me, but how much will really change…

Well...I am late to the party on this one, but this, is spectacular. More people should see this. So much truth woven into the wonderful flow of your words and to do all that with an abecedarian and to get your point across so perfectly...so beautifully. Well done, Alexis! This is outstanding and congrats on Top Story!

Nice! These are really tough...Was this for the abecedarian poetry challenge? They say to use the "Latin Alphabet" BUT they also say it has to be 26 lines. It would seem more correct to use the same alphabet the publisher uses, English.

Its always to late, isn't? How many more? Such strenth and power, brilliantly crafted and to do it the alphabet, Wow! 🤍

This is awesome - it took me a second to catch on it was an abecedarian, it was so smooth! Congratulations on Top Story!

Oh my. This is great. This is one I would want to see come to a wider audience than vocal.
