We are adrift at sea in the frozen waters of the north atlantic; sitting atop a iceberg having broken off of the great ice shelves of the pole.
The oceanic currents as our only guide we float on aimlessly towards whatever shore overtakes the horizon. But no shore ever came.
Just as in our relationship we coast on with quiet dismay; oblivious to the looming problems molding between us. Like cracks in our vessel of ice it begins to break down, piece by piece falling into the frigid waters. Day to day the mere slivers being hacked away may seem miniscule, but as time trudges on it reveals a doom that could've easily been diverted. But you just drifted on.
The iceberg we lie on is now a mere slab. To each side a plunge into frigid waters of pain and the crippling depths of depression. Like a singular crack separating our hearts there was a chance to fix us, or at least begin to understand.
The slab breaks in half.
You're alone.
